Today there are a few options to decorate or mimic stone, brick, and rock in poured concrete walls. There is not an industry standard name for the tool used to create the patterns in poured walls, though. They can be called form liners, decorative concrete forms, decorative concrete form liners, form liners for concrete, decorative concrete wall forms, concrete wall form liner, and concrete form liners to name a few. The Walttools concrete form liner collection is the most natural looking hand crafted rubber form liner available. Walttools form liners are manufactured from a highly durable polyurethane that come with a lifetime warranty if used as specified. The decorative concrete form liners are attached to any wood framing system via screws from the outside or trim nails through the texture wall insert face. Form Shield should be applied to the concrete form liners prior to pouring to keep concrete from adhering to the mats. The concrete form liners can be stacked to accommodate almost any wall size. The wall liners can be rotated to change stone grain orientation that reduces repetition. The decorative concrete forms companion inserts for inside and outside corners. There are many ways to color and finish the poured-in-place, decorative concrete wall. Integral color is an option to color the wall all the way through. Typically, at least a little stain is incorporated into the decorative wall. Walttools TruTint WB line or Reax are excellent choices to create mottling and character. Most stains are only topical, and can be abraided away by weather. A sealer to protect your investment is a wise choice, and Tru-Block fits the need. Tru Block protects the colors and wall from the elements, yet it leaves a natural finish to the concrete. No plastic looking walls. If you have plain concrete walls already you could just stain them to create a little pop of character. If you would like to add texture or a pattern to an existing concrete wall then check out our vertical concrete section. This Walttools wall liner system consists of two panel sizes: 48″x32″ and 48″x24″. There are more than one variation of each size to maintain a random look to it. Also used are two sizes of finish lugs to either trim out a top or bottom edge or to lock stacked forms together.
