Product Description
Note, this material no longer has the bright white look that it used to. It is just slightly hazy.
Heal and Seal D2K takes trade secret sealer technology and makes it into an uncompromising, “apply-and-forget-it” product. To put it simply, D2K is the very best decorative concrete sealer on the market for its coverage, durability, and ease of use. D2K will provide color enhancement and satin to a glossy finish. The water repellency is phenomenal and will keep all the bad elements like salt and deicers from penetrating the surface of the concrete.

D2K can be used to replace your current sealer and provide stellar results. D2K contains NO acrylic resins. Instead, it works through an advanced silicone technology that provides a permanent treatment to protect and preserve your concrete longer than any acrylic-based sealer could possibly do. This concrete sealer will penetrate and chemically fuse just below and above the surface of the concrete, as shown in Figure 1 below. This prevents water and other materials from getting below the surface and causing issues. This fused layer will also fill and heal small imperfections in the surface that would eventually lead to both aesthetic and physical imperfections in the surface. These imperfections can lead to color fade, concrete dusting, pop-outs, scaling, and even cracks (Figure 2). Standard sealers do not offer the level of protection that D2K can provide. If applied properly, it will never peel like a traditional sealer because it is not just a plastic skin sitting on the surface. Once chemically bonded to the surface it will not peel and flake away. It is a permanent treatment that will only wear away as the actual concrete wears. D2K will block the absorption of water into the surface. Water will just stay on top until it dries instead of treating the concrete like a sponge, soaking in and bringing all its impurities along. This cycle creates havoc in cold weather climates. This sealer protection will continue to keep your concrete healthy down below even when the top layer eventually shows wear.
Do yourself a favor and protect your investment with the only decorative concrete sealer that will maintain the health and welfare of your beautiful hardscape.
In addition to decorative concrete surfaces, D2K is also an excellent choice for restoring the color of weathered pavers. It is very easy to apply and provides instant gratification with minimal cleanup.
HOW TO USE:
MIXING: Always mix the product before using to ensure correction of any possible separation that may have occurred. Material may separate during long-term storage. Highly recommended to use a drill mixer with a mix head that lifts material toward the top surface to ensure a good blend. Blend for 2 minutes.
APPLICATION: Concrete should be clean and dry. Any previous sealer or coatings should be stripped and removed to ensure D2K is able to reach the concrete surface. It is always recommended to wait at least 28 days before applying to newly poured slabs. Excess moisture in the concrete can slow the curing process of the sealer and delay the time at which you are fully protected.
Standard Application Method: Spray with a quality sprayer that has a conical type tip and then back roll the sealer. Apply with slight overlap on spray passes taking care not to create heavy puddles. Another person should begin rolling the material out into an even coating, making sure they redistribute heavier areas of the sealer onto lighter areas. You should quickly find that the sealer spreads out quickly and easily into a nice even coating. Failure to apply this method can result in uneven darkening of the surface. When sealing countertops you need to be sure you are always rolling out material with a wet roller. Always be pushing material in front of the roller and working it into the surface. When the surface is fully coated you can then continue to roll out until the material is gone. You may even “wring out” your roller of excess material if too much is on the surface once it is fully coated.
D2K will create a white surface that will absorb and react with the concrete surface and cures clear as this happens. Failure to remove puddle areas can result in areas that will cure out much slower. Allow drying for a minimum of 1 to 2 hours depending on current conditions of temperature, humidity, and starting moisture in the concrete. For best results, allow D2K to cure for up to 12 hours, if possible. Once cured you can resume normal activity on the surface. In most cases, a second coating is not necessary unless there is a visual indication that some areas absorbed much more material than others. If so, the second coating should be applied only after the initial coating has cured and is NO LONGER TACKY. Follow the same application procedure. Second applications will generally TAKE LONGER to dry, 4-24 hours.
WARNING: Areas that remain white are indications of moisture present in that area or the material being applied to thick in that area. These areas could take a few extra days to cure fully but always do.
PLEASE NOTE: It is always recommended to test the product in a small, inconspicuous area (on the same concrete substrate) for desired results prior to application. Coverage rates may vary for all coatings and substrates depending on porosity, density, texture, etc. When applying, do not exceed 400 sq. ft. per gallon. Applying too thin of a coating may cause inadequate film formation or performance expectations may be limited.

We used this on our stamped patio three years ago. What is really nice is that it dries so quickly after a rain. My front sidewalk may stay wet for a couple hours after rain stops because the surface absorbs water. Not the patio. It can dry in 10 minutes once the sun comes out. No small pops or scaling yet either in Michigan winters. It is not really shiny anymore but we like a more natural look anyway.

This has been an excellent sealer for us. It works on almost all decorative that we do(mostly stamped) and has not given us trouble. It does really good at water blocking. Stains just wash off also. It may cost a bit more but it is worth it so far.

NO MORE CALL BACKS. Enough said. Two full years so far and no problems. We used to get two calls a month from customers when we used Butterfield acrylics. The more natural look is not for everyone but most like it.

This sealer is pretty amazing. We used it on a patio 3 years ago. It is time for a recoat. With steady traffic including dogs it is it is just a bit dull. In all fairness it looks like old wood which is the point but my wife wanted it a little fresher. After pressure washing with the rotary head attachment, this patio dried up in 15 minutes. NOTHING soaked into the surface, that is why this stuff is amazing. Highly recommended. The recoat went very smooth and it does look new again.
